Tec Rec Instructor
The DSAT Tec Deep Diver Instructor Training Course lasts nine days and includes knowledge development presentations, practical applications, water skills development and open water dives.
To enroll in a DSAT Tec Deep Instructor Course, the candidate must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a renewed PADI open water scuba instructor or higher rating.
  2. Be a PADI enriched air diver or have other qualifying certification.
  3. Be a PADI enriched air instructor, or have successfully completed a PADI enriched air instructor-training course.
  4. Be a PADI deep diver specialty instructor, or have successfully completed a PADI deep diver specialty instructor-training course.
  5. 5. Have a minimum of 100 logged dives, where at least 20 dives where made with enriched air Nitrox, 25 dives were deeper than 18 meters and at least 15 dives were deeper than 30 meters. If you are not a PADI enriched air instructor instructor courses that will take only three days to complete both together.

The DSAT Tec Instructor training Course is divided into two segments. The first segment is for PADI instructors who are not Tec Deep Diver nor have another qualifying certification. It is designed to introduce you to the motor skills required for technical diving qualifying you to make a gas-switch, extended no-stop dives; decompression stop dives and accelerated decompression dives using air, enriched air and pure oxygen, to 50 meters using the technical diving equipment and procedures.
Having met the performance requirement of the first segment you will get your certification as a DSAT Tec Deep Diver and qualify to start the second segment.

The second segment of the course is for PADI instructors who have the Tec Deep Diver or other qualifying certification and it is designed to further enhance your technical diving knowledge and skills and will introduce you to the teaching methodology and techniques qualifying you to teach the DSAT Tec Deep Diver Course.

Post requisites are candidate requirements that must be met prior to being certified as a DSAT Tec Deep Instructor, but may be met before or after successfully completing the DSAT Tec Deep Instructor Course. You can finish the instructor course and then work on fulfilling the rest of the requirements, before sending the application to PADI; candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a renewed PADI master scuba diver trainer or higher rating.
  2. Be a PADI Enriched air instructor.
  3. Be a PADI deep diver specialty instructor.
  4. Have assisted with at least two DSAT Tec Deep Diver Courses or one Apprentice Tec Diver Course and one Tec Deep Diver Course. Completing the DSAT Tec Deep Instructor Training Course credit as having assisted with an apprentice Tec Diver Course.
  5. Have a minimum of 270 dives logged, with at least 25 stage decompression dives that had maximum depth deeper than 40 meters.
  6. Have certified a total of ten or more PADI deep divers and/ or PADI enriched air divers. Any combination that totals ten is accepted.

Each instructor candidate is required to have the following materials:

  1. Tec Deep diver manual.
  2. Tec Deep diver instructor guide.
  3. Tec Deep instructor cue cards
